How do I send SMS via email?

Updated over 4 months ago

You can control the sending of SMS via the recipient line and the subject line of your email.

ATTENTION: This only works if you have set up Email2SMS in advance.

Additional parameters for your SMS dispatch via email can be found in our corresponding documentation.

Recipient

In the recipient line, enter the number to which you want to send the SMS and append @gateway.seven.io

If you want to send an SMS to the number 01761234567890, the recipient line must contain [email protected]

If you want to send SMS to a group, you must specify this in the subject line using the appropriate parameter. If you specify a value for Recipient in the subject line, the recipient line will be overwritten.

Subject

In the subject line you can specify which additional functions you would like to use. There are specific commands for each action. A command consists of a parameter, an equal sign and a value. Each command must be followed by a space character.

For an overview of all possible parameters, please also read our documentation.

An example:

You want the sender name to be Flowershop, but you have not configured this sender name in the app. In this case you can enter it in the subject line. To do this, use the parameter "from" and the value "flowershop". In this case you have to enter from=flowershop

(Note: Do you want to use a value with spaces? Then this value must be enclosed in quotation marks! Example: from="Flower Shop")

If in doubt, the command in the subject line overwrites the information in the recipient line.

SMS content

Please write the actual text of your SMS as usual in the text field of the email.

If you want to make sure that only the text you have entered is sent, and not an additional mail signature by mistake, you can enclose the text in double hash marks. ##This is your text##

If you have any further questions that are not answered in our documentation, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
