Instructions for configuring, selecting network operators and launching your RCS service

Updated over a week ago

In this article, you will learn step by step how to verify, configure and launch your RCS service. From verification to the selection of network operators and the final launch - all the important steps are explained here.

On the RCS service page, you will find the menu item Launch service on the left. Click on the Launch service button on this page. As soon as the service has been started, the Add additional network operators button appears.

Verification

Verification takes place to ensure that the service is actually created by your company:

  • Verification process: Google may ask you for verification by e-mail. This verification is necessary to prevent misuse. Follow the instructions for verification.

Define service behavior

In the next step, you fill out the form that defines the behavior of your RCS service. This is about how the service interacts with users:

  • Opt-in procedure: Explain how users give their consent to receive messages.

  • Actions that trigger messages: Define which user actions trigger the sending of RCS messages (e.g. a purchase, a support request).

  • Interactions of the service: Describe what type of interactions your service supports (e.g. transactions, offers, support).

  • Opt-out procedure: Indicate how users can opt out of receiving messages.

Preview of the service for network operators

Before the service goes live, you need to show network operators a preview to demonstrate how your RCS service will look and function. This preview gives network operators a clear idea of what your users can expect.

  • Provide test access: Explain how network operators can access your service to test it (e.g. via a test website or by adding test devices).

  • Video URL: Add a URL to a video showing the key features of your service, including opt-out mechanisms.

  • Screenshot URL: Upload screenshots that show what your service looks like in action. These serve as a visual preview for network operators.

Select network operators

In the next step, select the network operators via which your RCS service should be available. If a desired network operator is not listed, you can contact support.

Request launch

Once all steps have been completed, you can request the launch of your RCS service. To do this, click on Launch RCS service to send the service to the network operators for review.

The network operators will check your service. This may take some time. You will receive a confirmation as soon as your service has been approved.

Status and updates

While you are waiting for confirmation from the network operators, you can view the current status of your service at any time in the RCS service window under “Launch service”. You will also receive all relevant updates and notifications by e-mail.
